- I looked down at Courtney. Her nose and mouth were buried against my neck. She glanced up at me, squinting. "You know that promise is no good," I said.
- "Prick," Courtney groaned. She pushed forward, pushing me out of the way. All of her black hair tumbled forward from her shoulders and neck and I leaned back on the balls of my feet.
